A video of my freestyle and backstroke

I have a waterproof Panasonic camera. I could ask someone to take video of me underwater swimming, but I'm in Vegas, and I don't have a stick mount for the camera to shoot underwater motion.  For now, I can only deck mount it & see myself swimming from the end of the lane.

The high deck at Desert Breeze pool was great for shooting and the start block also supported the camera.
I mounted it on the start block at Aquatic Springs pool, but with the large glass wall panels, severe back lighting made anything in the pool appear very dark. I do wish I'd brought a tripod for placement at the other end of the pool where backlighting wasn't present.

What did I see?  On the camera's little 2" screen, I saw myself swimming.  On a 24" iMac screen, I saw a very splashy hand entry while swimming freestyle. After exiting the water, my hands made a roundhouse path to the front and plunged into the water in front of my shoulder, throwing an arc of water to the other side.  The left elbow is above the shoulder line, while the right (and breathing side) elbow is on a line outside the shoulder line.  Gotta clean up that splash.

On backstroke, I saw a dearth of rotation on two clips & I saw myself zigging and zagging. Hand entry was above the shoulder (someone said that's good) Hm.

Lessons learned from unassisted video:  It works best to swim swim back halfway down the lane as the camera doesn't automatically zoom the lens as I get further away.

Update February 14, 2019. I searched youTube for a solution. These two videos  from Velopress and MySwimPro looked like they'd address my splashy freestyle hand entry, making the hand entry further back than I was, about 1.5' ahead of my shoulder. I spent the session today working on this and even swam a few strokes with my eyes above the water, hoping to see this change, but  only video will confirm whether this improves my entry.

Re my backstroke:  Whatever the source of the problem, I need to ensure adequate hip/shoulder rotation before I can say more
